10 years after moving in to our house, we finally completed the laundry! Living on a farm with kids and dogs, it has made life so much easier, I wish I had done it years ago.
We got these basic white units from our local Tumu building yard and, with a lot of help from the amazing Gregor, managed to transform this dusty, impractical old laundry room into a clean, functioning and stylish space that I actually want to be in.
Cubbies at floor level mean the kids have no excuse for leaving their shoes all over the floor (although they still seem to manage that) and the floor to ceiling storage is the best thing ever.
We had a tight budget so we used laminate work tops, re-used the old sinks and put heavy duty vinyl on the floor but I don't feel we skimped on style. We gave the walls and existing shelves a fresh coat of paint (1/4 Seafog by Resene), and removed the ugly old shelf brackets.
It's amazing how a few accessories and a house plant or two can transform a space from plain to beautiful.
